09.00 - 10.00

Set up displays, computers, dishes, receivers as necessary.
Registration - Please register and pay the registration fee of £12.00 which also allows entry into the NSC’s exhibition areas.

10.00 - 10.10

Welcome to delegates by Francis Bell plus any notices for the day’s events.

10.10 - 10.40

Storm Dunlop: GEO member and author.

Presentation: ‘Viewing our weather from above and below’.

11.00 - 12.00

David Taylor: GEO member and software consultant.

Presentation: ‘Software developments for the new EUMETCast services’.
This will be mainly about Metop and other polar orbiting satellites.


11.50 - 14.00

Lunch break but including workshops covering a variety of subjects related to weather satellite reception. Software tutorials / presentations. The latest hardware, computer cards or USB boxes. Other workshops, tutorials and presentations according to members’ willingness to share their experiences. A dish for live EUMETCast reception will be available as a resource. For lunch there are facilities within the NSC for refreshments. Delegates will have to buy their own food and drinks or perhaps bring a packed lunch.


14.00 - 15.00

Afternoon Presentation

Ferdinand Valk, a GEO member from The Netherlands will make a presentation: ‘Imaging the Polar Regions’.

15.00 - 16.00

GEO AGM

• A report from the company director and company secretary. Future plans for the company.
• Financial report.
• Reports from GEO’s management team as appropriate.
• An open discussion on any matters relating to GEO’s activities.

16.00 - 17.00

Draw the raffle for prizes.
Further workshops / discussions / presentations as time allows.

Time to start clearing up as we must vacate the NSC by 18.00 hours.
